1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
1 Y ACONTECIO en aquellos días que salió edicto de parte de Augusto César, que toda la tierra fuese empadronada.

2 Kay runa yupayqa chayllaraqmi qallarirqan Siria suyupi sullk'a rey Kirenio kamachikushaqtin.

2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
2 Este empadronamiento primero fué hecho siendo Cirenio gobernador de la Siria.

3 Llapallataq padronasqa kanankupaq nacesqanku llaqtamankama rirqanku.

3 And everyone went to his own town to register.
3 E iban todos para ser empadronados, cada uno á su ciudad.

4 Hinan Josepas Galilea provinciapi Nazaret llaqtamanta Judea hap'iyman wicharqan, Davidpa llaqtan Belenman, Davidpa mirayninmanta kasqanrayku.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
4 Y subió José de Galilea, de la ciudad de Nazaret, á Judea, á la ciudad de David, que se llama Bethlehem, por cuanto era de la casa y familia de David;

5 Chaymanqa rirqan paywan casarakunanpaq rimaykusqaña Mariawan yupasqa kananpaqmi, Mariaqa onqoqmi kasharqan.

5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
5 Para ser empadronado con María su mujer, desposada con él, la cual estaba encinta.

6 Paykuna chaypi kashaqtinkutaq wachakunan killaqa hunt'akurqan.

6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,
6 Y aconteció que estando ellos allí, se cumplieron los días en que ella había de parir.

7 Hinan phiwi qhari wawanta wachakurqan, walthanawan walthaykuspatay uywa qaranapi siriykachirqan paykunapaq tampupi mana campo kasqanrayku.

7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
7 Y parió á su hijo primogénito, y le envolvió en pañales, y acostóle en un pesebre, porque no había lugar para ellos en el mesón.

8 Belén llaqta qaylla campopitaq michiqkuna kasharqan uywankuta tutantin qhawaspanku.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
8 Y había pastores en la misma tierra, que velaban y guardaban las vigilias de la noche sobre su ganado.

9 Chayllamanmi Señor Diospa angelninqa paykunaman rikhurirqan, Señorpa lliphlli-kaynintaq paykunaman k'anchaykurqan, hinan sinchitapuni mancharikurqanku.

9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
9 Y he aquí el ángel del Señor vino sobre ellos, y la claridad de Dios los cercó de resplandor; y tuvieron gran temor.

10 Chaymi angelqa paykunata nirqan:- Ama mancharikuychischu, ancha allin willakuytan willasqaykichis, chaywanmi llapa runa q'ochukunqa.

10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
10 Mas el ángel les dijo: No temáis; porque he aquí os doy nuevas de gran gozo, que será para todo el pueblo:

11 Kunanmi Davidpa llaqtanpi huk Qespichiq nacepusunkichis, payqa Diospa Akllasqan Criston, payqa Señormi.

11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
11 Que os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador, que es CRISTO el Señor.

12 Chayta yachanaykichispaqqa kay hinatan tarinkichis: Huk wawan walthanawan walthaykusqa uywa qaranapi siriykusqa kashanqa, nispa.

12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
12 Y esto os será por señal: hallaréis al niño envuelto en pañales, echado en un pesebre.

13 Chayllamanmi angelwan hanaq pachapi askha angelkuna rikhurimurqan Diosta yupaychaspanku:

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
13 Y repentinamente fué con el ángel una multitud de los ejércitos celestiales, que alababan á Dios, y decían:

14 ¡Diosqa hanaq pachapi yupaychasqa kachun! ¡Diospa khuyapayasqan runakunataq kay pachapi sumaqta kawsachun! nispa.

14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
14 Gloria en las alturas á Dios, Y en la tierra paz, buena voluntad para con los hombres.

15 Hanaq pachaman angelkuna kutipuqtinkutaq michiqkunaqa ninakurqanku:- Hakuchisyá Belén Ilaqtata, hinaspa rikumusun Señor Diospa willawasqanchis imachus kasqanta.

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
15 Y aconteció que como los ángeles se fueron de ellos al cielo, los pastores dijeron los unos á los otros: Pasemos pues hasta Bethlehem, y veamos esto que ha sucedido, que el Señor nos ha manifestado.

16 Usqhaylla rispankutaq Mariata Josetawan, wawatapas uywa qaranapi siriykusqata tarirqanku.

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.
16 Y vinieron apriesa, y hallaron á María, y á José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre.

17 Chayta rikuspataq wawamanta angelpa paykunaman nisqanta willakurqanku.

17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,
17 Y viéndolo, hicieron notorio lo que les había sido dicho del niño.

18 Chaymi llapan uyariqkuna muspharqanku michiqkunaq willakusqanmanta.

18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
18 Y todos los que oyeron, se maravillaron de lo que los pastores les decían.

19 Mariataq ichaqa chaykunata yuyaymanaspa sonqonpi allintapuni hap'irqan.

19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
19 Mas María guardaba todas estas cosas, confiriéndolas en su corazón.

20 Michiqkunataq uyarisqankuman hina tukuy imapas sucedesqanmanta yachaspanku, rikusqankumantawan Diosta hatunchaspa yupaychaspa kutipurqanku.

20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
20 Y se volvieron los pastores glorificando y alabando á Dios de todas las cosas que habían oído y visto, como les había sido dicho.

21 Pusaq p'unchayniyoq wawa kashaqtinmi qhari-kaynin qarachata señalarqanku, hinaspan wiksapi manaraq kamakushaqtin angelpa sutichasqan Jesús sutiwan suticharqanku.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise him, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he had been conceived.
21 Y pasados los ocho días para circuncidar al niño, llamaron su nombre JESUS; el cual le fué puesto por el ángel antes que él fuese concebido en el vientre.

22 Moisespa kamachikusqanman hina wachakuqpa ch'uyanchakuynin p'unchay chayamuqtintaq, Mariaqa Josepiwan Jerusalén llaqtaman wawata aparqanku Señor Diosman presentanankupaq,

22 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord
22 Y como se cumplieron los días de la purificación de ella, conforme á la ley de Moisés, le trajeron á Jerusalem para presentarle al Señor,

23-24 ofrendatapas haywanankupaq. Señor Diospa kamachikuynin simipin nin: Llapa phiwi naceq qhari wawan Señor Diospaq t'aqasqa kanqa, nispa. Nillantaqmi: Iskay kullkuta otaq iskay malqo urpitapas haywanki, nispa.

23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord"),
24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: "a pair of doves or two young pigeons."
23 (Como está escrito en la ley del Señor: Todo varón que abriere la matriz, será llamado santo al Señor),
24 Y para dar la ofrenda, conforme á lo que está dicho en la ley del Señor: un par de tórtolas, ó dos palominos.

25 Jerusalén llaqtapin tiyarqan Simeón sutiyoq runa, paymi Dios yupaychaq chanin runa karqan, Israel runakunaq qespichisqa kanantataq suyasharqan. Santo Espiritun paypi karqan,

25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
25 Y he aquí, había un hombre en Jerusalem, llamado Simeón, y este hombre, justo y pío, esperaba la consolación de Israel: y el Espíritu Santo era sobre él.

26 chay Santo Espiritun payman willasqaña:- Senor Diospa Akllasqan Cristota manaraq rikushaspaqa manapunin wañunkichu, nispa.

26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
26 Y había recibido respuesta del Espíritu Santo, que no vería la muerte antes que viese al Cristo del Señor.

27 Hinan Simeonqa Espirituq tanqarisqan Dios yupaychana wasiman haykurqan. Chaymanmi tayta-mamanqa Jesús wawata apamurqanku Diospa kamachikuyninman hina ruwanankupaq.

27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required,
27 Y vino por Espíritu al templo. Y cuando metieron al niño Jesús sus padres en el templo, para hacer por él conforme á la costumbre de la ley.

28 Hinaqtinmi Simeonqa wawata marq'arikurqan, hinaspan Diosta yupaychaspa nirqan:

28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:
28 Entonces él le tomó en sus brazos, y bendijo á Dios, y dijo:

29 Kunanqa, Señor Diosníy, nisqaykiman hina kamachiykiqa sonqopas-sonqo wañukapusaq.

29 "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace.
29 Ahora despides, Señor, á tu siervo, Conforme á tu palabra, en paz;

30 Ñan rikuniña kachamusqayki Qespichiqniykuta,

30 For my eyes have seen your salvation,
30 Porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación,

31 llapa llaqtakunaq qayllanpi churasqaykita.

31 which you have prepared in the sight of all people,
31 La cual has aparejado en presencia de todos los pueblos;

32 Paymi mana Judío runakunaman k'anchaspa munayniykita reqsichinqa, Israel llaqtaykipaqtaq hatun sami kanqa, nispa.

32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."
32 Luz para ser revelada á los Gentiles, Y la gloria de tu pueblo Israel.

33 Hinan Josepas mamanpas muspharqanku Jesús wawamanta imaymanata nisqankuwan.

33 The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him.
33 Y José y su madre estaban maravillados de las cosas que se decían de él.

34 Simeontaq paykunata saminchaspan María mamanta nirqan:- Qhawariy, Diosmi kay wawata Israelpi churan, wakin urmananpaq, wakintaq Diosman kutirikunanpaq. Diospa munayninta rikuchiqtinmi pay contra rimanqaku.

34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: "This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against,
34 Y los bendijo Simeón, y dijo á su madre María: He aquí, éste es puesto para caída y para levantamiento de muchos en Israel; y para señal á la que será contradicho;

35 Ahinapin paykunaq yuyaykusqan yachasqa kanqa. Llakikuymi espada hina t'urpuspa sonqoykita nanachinqa, nispa.

35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too."
35 Y una espada traspasará tu alma de ti misma, para que sean manifestados los pensamientos de muchos corazones.

36 Chaypiqa kashallarqantaqmi Aser ayllumanta Fanuelpa ususin Ana, payqa karqan sinchi yuyaqña profeta* warmi. Paymi doncellallaraq casarakusqanmantapacha qanchis watallata qosanwan tiyasqa.

36 There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,
36 Estaba también allí Ana, profetisa, hija de Phanuel, de la tribu de Aser; la cual había venido en grande edad, y había vivido con su marido siete años desde su virginidad;

37 Pusaq chunka tawayoq watañan viuda karqan. Payqa Dios yupaychana wasimantan mana lloqsiqchu, tuta p'unchay ayunaspa rogakuspa Diosta yupaychaq.

37 and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.
37 Y era viuda de hasta ochenta y cuatro años, que no se apartaba del templo, sirviendo de noche y de día con ayunos y oraciones.

38 Chay warmin chay kikin horatapuni hamuspa Diosman graciasta qorqan, Jerusalén llaqtata awqankunamanta kacharichiyta llapan suyaqkunamantaq Jesús wawamanta rimarirqan.

38 Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.
38 Y ésta, sobreviniendo en la misma hora, juntamente confesaba al Señor, y hablaba de él á todos los que esperaban la redención en Jerusalem.

39 Señor Diospa kamachikuy siminman hina lliwta hunt'aspataq, Galileaman kutipurqanku, llaqtanku Nazaretman.

39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.
39 Mas como cumplieron todas las cosas según la ley del Señor, se volvieron á Galilea, á su ciudad de Nazaret.

40 Wawataq wiñarqan, kallpachakurqan, yachaywan hunt'aykusqataq karqan, Diostaq payta allinpaq qhawarirqan.

40 And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.
40 Y el niño crecía, y fortalecíase, y se henchía de sabiduría; y la gracia de Dios era sobre él.

41 Tayta-mamantaq sapa wata Diospa Alqaspa Pasarparisqan Yuyarina Fiestapaq Jerusalén llaqtaman riqku.

41 Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.
41 E iban sus padres todos los años á Jerusalem en la fiesta de la Pascua.

42 Jesús chunka iskayniyoq watayoq kashaqtinmi chay fiestapaq Jerusalén llaqtaman wicharirqanku, imaynan rillaqkupuni hinata.

42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom.
42 Y cuando fué de doce años, subieron ellos á Jerusalem conforme á la costumbre del día de la fiesta.

43 Chay fiesta tukukuyta kutimpushaqtinkun Jesusqa Jerusalén llaqtapi qhepakurqan, ichaqa Josepas mamanpas manan yacharqanchu.

43 After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.
43 Y acabados los días, volviendo ellos, se quedó el niño Jesús en Jerusalem, sin saberlo José y su madre.

44 Hinan puriqkuna ukhupi Jesuspa rishasqanta yuyaspa huk p'unchay puriytaña rirqanku, hinaspan ayllunku ukhupi reqsinakuqmasi purapipas Jesusta maskhaykurqanku.

44 Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.
44 Y pensando que estaba en la compañía, anduvieron camino de un día; y le buscaban entre los parientes y entre los conocidos:

45 Mana tarispataq qhepantin p'unchay Jerusalén llaqtaman kutirirqanku payta maskhaspa.

45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.
45 Mas como no le hallasen, volvieron á Jerusalem buscándole.

46 Kinsakaq p'unchaypitaq Jesustaqa Dios yupaychana wasipi tarirqanku Diospa kamachikuyninta yachachiqkuna chawpipi tiyashaqta, Jesusqa paykunatan uyarisharqan tapusharqantaq.

46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
46 Y aconteció, que tres días después le hallaron en el templo, sentado en medio de los doctores, oyéndoles y preguntándoles.

47 Llapan payta uyariqkunataq muspharqanku yachayninmanta kutichisqankunamantawan.

47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.
47 Y todos los que le oían, se pasmaban de su entendimiento y de sus respuestas.

48 Tayta-mamantaq payta rikuspa muspharqan, hinan mamanqa nirqan:- Wawáy, ¿imaraykun kayta ruwawankiku? Qhawariy, taytaykipiwanmi khuyay llakisqa maskhaykamushaykiku, nispa.

48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."
48 Y cuando le vieron, se maravillaron; y díjole su madre: Hijo, ¿por qué nos has hecho así? He aquí, tu padre y yo te hemos buscado con dolor.

49 Chaymi paykunata nirqan:- ¿Imapaqtaq maskhamuwarqankichis? ¿Manachu yacharqankichis Yayaypa ruwanankunapi kanayta? nispa.

49 "Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"
49 Entonces él les dice: ¿Qué hay? ¿por qué me buscabais? ¿No sabíais que en los negocios de mi Padre me conviene estar?

50 Tayta-mamantaq ichaqa mana entienderqankuchu chay nisqan simikunata.

50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
50 Mas ellos no entendieron las palabras que les habló.

51 Paykunawan uraykuspataq Jesusqa Nazaret llaqtaman kutipuspa paykunaman kasukuspa tiyarqan. Mamanqa tukuy chaykunatan sonqollanpi waqaycharqan.

51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.
51 Y descendió con ellos, y vino á Nazaret, y estaba sujeto á ellos. Y su madre guardaba todas estas cosas en su corazón.

52 Jesusmi wiñasharqan yachaypipas sayayninpipas, Diospas runakunapas sumaqtataq qhawarirqan.

52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
52 Y Jesús crecía en sabiduría, y en edad, y en gracia para con Dios y los hombres.
